Fortnite added to Olympic Esports Series 2023

Fortnite has been chosen to be part of the Olympic Esports Series 2023, according to an announcement by the International Olympic Committee on Friday.

The competition is an invitational event that involves 12 players from Fortnite's Championship Series. The event will take place in Singapore's Suntec Centre from 22–25 June 2023, as part of the Olympic Esports Week. The 12 competitors will play an International Shooting Sport Federation Creative Island which has been designed to reflect sport shooting competition. Players will be tested on their target aiming accuracy, just as sport shooters would in competition.

This is the first time Fortnite has been included in an Olympic event, and it is a testament to its continued growth in the world of competitive gaming. The Olympic Esports Series is a global virtual sports competition created by the IOC, in collaboration with International Federations and game publishers. Fortnite joins archery, baseball, chess, cycling, dance, motorsport, sailing, Taekwondo and tennis to become the tenth game involved in the series.

Those wishing to watch the event live can do so at olympics.com, where all the action will be streamed globally. Tickets are now available for the Olympic Esports Week, with general admission tickets starting at $10 Singapore dollars ($7.50 USD) per day, and three-day passes beginning at S$20.
