Fortnite announces Shortnitemares 2021

Fortnite's third 'Short Nite' event, renamed to 'Shortnitemares' for Halloween, has been announced today and will be starting on October 28, 2021 at 6pm ET.

After the success of the previous 'Short Nite' events, the show has returned once again, this time with a Fortnitemares twist of seven horror-themed animated short films.

A special Shortnitemares Theatre has been built in Creative Mode for the event, with each short film represented by its own unique room. The main screen at the "Festival Room" in the Theatre will run a loop of all seven shorts until the event ends along with Fortnitemares 2021 on November 1. Fortnite's Picture-in-Picture feature will also allow players to watch the shorts whilst playing Battle Royale gamemodes.

Watching Shortnitemares for 30 minutes in the Shortnitemares Theatre will grant players the 'Spray Matter' Spray.

Kernel Poppy

To celebrate Shortnitemares 2021, Fortnite has also officially revealed that the new 'Kernel Poppy' Outfit, 'Slurpy Slush'em' Back Bling and 'Butter Buddy' Emote will be available in the Item Shop on October 27, 2021 at 8pm ET.
