Fortnite Raises $100,000,000 for Ukraine in 10 Days
Since announcing its decision to commit 100% of profits to Ukraine just ten days ago, Epic Games has now revealed that over $100 million USD has been raised for humanitarian relief in the country. The funds will be split between UNICEF, World Food Programme, UNHCR and Direct Relief.
The money raised comes from every purchase made in Fortnite since March 20th, including Battle Pass sales, V-Buck purchases and Crew Pack memberships. The announcement gives us a rare insight into the profits made by Epic Games at the launch of a new Fortnite Season.
Upon making a purchase of either the Crew Pack, Battle Pass or something in the Item Shop, popups in-game explain to players that all money is being committed to Ukraine.
Epic will continue to commit 100% of its profits from Fortnite to the relief effort in Ukraine until April 3rd, 2022. You can read about the original announcement here.
