Fortnite's next Reload map is expected to be themed around Kado Thorne and Chapter 4 Season 4, with the current Map Mastery event scheduled to end on October 8.
New files added in the recent v42.10 update contain a number of references to the returning character. According to leakers, new dialogue from Elite Zadie reveals that she knew Kado Thorne during her time with the Imagined Order and has wanted to recruit him into The Elites for years.
The files also reveal that new Kado Thorne cosmetics will be obtainable through upcoming Reload Quests, directly connecting his return to the mode.
Further details discovered in the update point towards the next Reload map being inspired by Chapter 4 Season 4: Last Resort. One of the new Kado-themed rewards is a Glider named the "Eclipse 'Brella Reloaded", suggesting the character will play a significant role in Reload's next refresh.
Kado Thorne was originally introduced as the main antagonist of Chapter 4 Season 4 in 2023. The Last Resort Season saw the vampire take over the Island with Sanguine Suites, Relentless Retreat and Eclipsed Estate, using his Time Machine to collect weapons and items from Fortnite's past.
The current Reload Map Mastery Quests are scheduled to end on October 8, making the date the most likely launch point for the next map and its associated Kado Thorne rewards.
Epic Games has not officially announced the new Reload map or confirmed an October 8 release date, so the timing could still change.
