Indonesia bans access to Fortnite, Epic Games and more
The Indonesian government has blocked access to a number of online services, including Fortnite and Epic Games.
The services were blocked due to failure to comply with new licensing rules. Platforms had until July 29 to comply with the new rules, which will allow authorities to order the take down of content deemed unlawful, or that "disturbs public order". Steam, Yahoo, PayPal, Dota 2 and Counter-Strike were also among the blocked services.
Indonesian officials have noted that the ban will be lifted once the companies register with the country's database. It's currently unknown if Epic Games intends to register with the Indonesian database, or when we could see access to Fortnite return.
