Fortnite Announces OG 'Reload' Mode, Launches Tomorrow

Fortnite has surprised players by announcing OG 'Reload' - a brand new Battle Royale mode that scales down and remixes the iconic Chapter 1 map.

The new mode comes as a shock to most, with no information on its existence being leaked early, even following the 2024 roadmap leak earlier this year. In what appears to be a brand new permanent mode, players will be able to jump in from tomorrow, June 22nd, and experience a new take on Fortnite Battle Royale from Epic. Looking at the official reveal trailer, we can confirm the names of six Reload locations, some of which will be familiar:

  • Tilted Towers
  • Pleasant Park
  • Retail Row
  • Lil' Loot Lake
  • Lazy Labs
  • Sandy Sheets

The known POIs appear to be true to their full, original size, with the newer locations filling in the surrounding terrain. Epic describes the mode as "a place of high energy and forgiveness", hinting towards the respawn-focused gameplay that it's rumoured to feature.
