Just two weeks after the launch of Fortnite's permanent OG mode, it appears Epic Games is making preparations to bring rare Season 1 cosmetics back to the Shop for the first time.
In an unexpected update to the Fortnite API, Epic added new Item Shop image assets to the server for the 'Renegade Raider' and 'Aerial Assault Trooper' Outfits. The new Shop assets include featured images for the LEGO Styles of both characters, along with a brand new standard render for the Aerial Assault Trooper.
Epic typically adds new assets to the API shortly before related cosmetics arrive in the Item Shop, leading us to believe we'll see the same happen to the Season 1 Outfits tomorrow. Adding to this, leakers also revealed that the recent v33.11 update reintroduced the classic 'Season Shop' to the game files, along with with support for the new XP system.
The Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper Outfits were originally sold in the 'Season Shop' during the first months of Battle Royale in 2017. Players could only purchase the available cosmetics, which also included a matching Glider and Pickaxe, after reaching specific Levels. This Shop later was removed with the launch of Season 2 and replaced by the Battle Pass system.
At the time of writing, Epic Games has not officially commented on the return of these cosmetics. We'll keep you updated.
