Epic Games has officially announced the second Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) event of 2022. Players will have an opportunity to compete in the Chapter 3 Season 2 FNCS for a share of $3,008,500 beginning May 2, 2022.
Chapter 2 Season 2 FNCS will have three Qualifiers, followed by two weeks of competition including Semi-Finals and Finals:
Qualifiers (May 2-6, May 2-8, May 13-15)
For this Season, the top five teams from each Qualifier will advance directly to the FNCS Finals, for a total of 15 teams. Each Qualifier will take place across four Rounds, with the fourth Round having one set lobby competing to qualify.
Semi-Finals (May 20-22)
Victory Royales and consistent performance will be the key to qualifying for the FNCS Finals. For any Session, you’ll either need to win a game or be one of the top six most consistent teams during that Session to advance to the Finals.
Session 1
- Top 50 teams from the Series Point Leaderboard from each region
- Consists of five matches
- 11 teams from this Session will advance to the Finals
- 5 Victory Royale winners and the top 6 consistent teams
Session 2
- Filled with the 11 vacant team spots by the 51st-61st teams on the Series Point Leaderboard
- Consists of six matches
- This 50-team lobby will run five matches and advance 12 teams to the Finals
- 6 Victory Royale winners and the top 6 consistent teams
Session 3
- Filled with the 12 vacant team spots by the 62nd-73rd teams on the Series Point Leaderboard.
- Consists of six matches.
- This 50-team lobby will compete across six matches and advance 12 total teams to the Finals.
- 6 Victory Royale winners and the top 6 consistent teams.
Finals (May 28-29)
There are two ways to be crowned FNCS Champions.
The first path to winning the FNCS Finals is by achieving Match Point. With Match Point, a duo team can end the competition early by earning 475 total points and three Victory Royales. Once a team has met both of these thresholds, they will be declared the FNCS Champions! Match Point is extremely challenging to achieve and only possible for a completely dominant performance.
The second path to winning the FNCS Finals is to be the team that earns the most points after all 12 matches are played. If no team is able to achieve Match Point by the 12th match, then the team with the most cumulative points at the end of the 12th match will be crowned FNCS Champions!
