Fortnite Blitz Royale Launches June 18

Fortnite's new 'Blitz Royale' gamemode has been officially revealed.

Launching with the v36.10 update on June 18, the new Blitz Royale mode is described as "Battle Royale, faster", "with a rogue-like design specifically crafted for mobile play". Despite the mobile-friendly design, Epic have since clarified that the mode will be available on all platforms at launch.
Details of the mode remain mostly unknown, but it's expected to be a permanent playlist, and will use Battle Royale mechanics on Reload's existing maps. Matches for the new mode will only last five minutes, making it the shortest take on Battle Royale from Epic yet. Data miners claim the Reload map used for Blitz will change weekly, cycling through each in release order, with a brand new map being revealed in week 4. Unlike Reload, players will not be able to respawn after being eliminated in Blitz Royale, keeping matches intense and fast.
