Fortnite Patch v6.31 Coming Tomorrow, Here's What to Expect

With Patch v6.31 confirmed by Fortnite to be dropping tomorrow, here's a list of what you should expect once you boot up the game after downtime ends.

Downtime for Patch v6.31 begins Tuesday, November 27 at 5 AM ET / 10 AM UTC. We'll be posting the patch notes before downtime ends, so make sure to stay tuned to the site or our social medias.

Legendary and Epic Pump Shotgun Variants

Fortnite announced via their in-game Message of the Day that a Legendary and Epic variant of the already existing Pump Shotgun will be coming to the game soon. We can guarantee the update will feature these new weapons due to the nature of the Patch announcement tweet.

"Pump up your squad for the Legendary v6.31 update."

Changes to Existing Shotguns

The existing Pump Shotgun that was in the game before Patch v6.31 will have changes to its damage, drop-off range, and more. In an announcement to Twitter and Reddit, Eric Williamson, Design Lead at Epic Games, confirmed that shotguns will be buffed in the next update (v6.31).

"The upcoming 6.31 update will include a Pump Shotgun rebalance to improve effectiveness: damage will increase in close quarters and range will be reduced slightly. Additionally, ALL shotguns will have a minimum damage of 3 pellets (even if only 1 or 2 hit)."

He specified on Reddit that the Rare Pump Shotgun (blue) will now do 10 damage per pellet, and now with a minimum damage of 3 pellets that means it will do 30 damage per hit. However, fall-off still applies if you hit a target far away, meaning less damage will occur at longer distances (which makes sense, it's a damn shotgun).

What About Account Merging?

This will be the last patch of November, the month in which Epic Games promised the feature to be arriving. We've asked our sources on whether or not Account Merging will make an appearance, and they said they've heard nothing. But who knows? Epic promised November, we'll have to see tomorrow.
